yena and he are supposed to be friends. they are supposed to be on their way to build something that cannot be broken again. but the truth is that neither of them has come clean about their secrets. that doesn’t mean that jaehyun is not getting bothersome flutters tingling inside whenever yena smiles up at him or loops their arms together when walking down the street.

he is utterly and completely in love with this girl made of the warm afternoon sunshine and the power of summer magic; whenever she is near, jaehyun gives into her ideas no matter how inconvenient these may be while also feigning he is just humoring her.

jaehyun’s heart continues to fail him as disappointment is quick to rush down his system. outside though, he smirks, his gaze traveling to the horizon instead of looking at her.

a part of himself raises its ugly head from the inside up. it asks him if this is really fine. it tells him you cannot be friends with someone you want the way he wants her. but he crushes hope’s voice with a will of steel and plays deaf ears to its pleas. he carries on.
